ABOUT CREATIVE OPERATIONS: WHAT IS IT?

There is no single definition of Creative Operations. It’s a broad concept that can mean different things to different people.

I view Creative Operations as the “how” of a creative business. That “how” is comprised of three elements, what I call the Three P’s: People, Process, and Platforms.

PEOPLE

Having the right people with the right skills in the right roles.

PROCESS

Building and maintaining efficient systems and processes for all tasks.

PLATFORMS

Utilizing the right tools/applications for your particular needs in the most effective ways.

As you can probably tell, one of the biggest challenges of Creative Operations is that there’s no one way to do it right. Not only are the best decisions different for every team, but those can (and should) change for each team over time. As your work evolves, so should your Creative Operations.

That’s fine for large agencies that can afford Creative Operations Directors. But where does it leave smaller video production teams without the resources of Hill Holliday, Ogilvy, or R/GA? They end up cobbling together their systems without a strategy, plan, or guidance. That can work for a while, but sooner or later, cracks appear. Once that happens, the creative work and, most importantly, the teams suffer.

That’s where I come in.

ABOUT MY PASSION: WHY I DO THIS

Jesse Krinsky working

Running a thriving video production team doesn’t need to be this hard.

Over the last 20 years, I've worked across the video production landscape: agencies, production companies, in-house creative teams, corporate communications departments, and TV studios.

I've seen production teams struggle with endless rounds of revisions, late nights, lost footage, frustrated clients, legal fights, and worse. None of this has to happen.

I firmly believe every team, regardless of size, structure, or location, deserves the ability to deliver great content without unnecessary hurdles.
